$ 31.67

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Original/Reproduction: Antique Original
  • Condition: very good vintage condition - has miniscule chip on upper lip (that I didn't notice at first but felt while running my finger over the piece - then I could see it when examined closely). Scratching on base. One corner of the base is rough, not chipped but feels rougher than the other 3. I try to provide plenty of description so buyer knows all aspects of artwork.

    Description

    Vintage Modernist Sommerso Grey Vase by Kaj Franck for Nuutajärvi Notsjö, 1960's. Measures 7 inches tall.
    *Very weighty solid feeling cased clear and grey glass with facetted and polished sides made using the turn mould-blown technique
    , whereby the piece is spun round or 'turned' by hand while in a mould to remove any joint lines. Their Modernist form is truly unique and stunning.
    The underside is signed ‘ Nuutajärvi Notsjö’
    .
    According to The British Museum, (where they have one of these in their collection) the Pilari series vases were in production between 1956 -1968.
    Overall excellent condition with some wear/scratches at base - 1 incredibly small chip at lip that is only noticeable if examined closely (I never saw it but felt it first, then close up could see the chip at a certain angle). Please note when purchasing that this is an older object and has been loved and appreciated, which is part of the beauty of this item.
